This page shows time series of verification statistics for our icing diagnoses and six hour forecasts on Domain 2. Icing potentials are verified against pilot reports (PIREPs) of both positive (icing observed) and negative (no icing in report) icing occurrences. Grid columns containing one or more levels with a value >= 0.1 are treated as an icing "warning" for that gridpoint, if not then "all clear".

The quantities in the first figure are as follows:

• POD (Probability of Detection) = percentage of positive icing observations correctly diagnosed
• Inverse POD = percentage of negative icing observations correctly diagnosed
• POD-No = percentage of all gridpoints which either correctly or unverifiably diagnose lack of icing
